B.U.G.S. (98)

First Sketch B.U.G.S. (aka PlusPak: B.U.G.S. aka B.U.G.S. 98) is a two person project started in 1997 by Jeppe Cramon, a Danish programmer, and me. In the beginning, it was intended to become an OS/2 clone of a DOS game, which itself was a variation of the popular arcade game "Galaga".

We then had the idea of making it a little bit more than a simple clone. We Bug animation frames both used OS/2 at that time - so, of course, the most dangerous invaders were the ones brought to us by "Evil Bill" and they had to be represented by bugs. The game needed about half a year until the first release was out. In the beginning we planned to make it freeware, but later we were contacted by Stardock Systems, telling us that they would be interested in marketing it for us Masterbug as a part of their product line.

In late1998 the Windows port (and an update of the OS/2 version including most of the newly added features) was published, followed by Version 1.5 for Windows with a more "average-Win-user-friendly" interface and a B.U.G.S. Desktop Theme for MS Plus.

More info on B.U.G.S. can be found at the B.U.G.S. Homepage.
